- Greatly improved our campuses with either major renovations or new school buildings to improve security and improved education environments.
-In the process of adding HVAC to gyms at all comprehensive high schools.
-Active shooter trainings and increased security with gates/ cameras/ security staff.
- Breathing and wellness program to address the mental health challenges experienced by many of our youth.
Accomplishments
College/ Career Technical Education
- Medical Career Ladder, a collaboration with Western University.
- Exceptional college access programs to include Bright Prospect, National College Resources Foundation, and Upward Bound.
- Arranged for all our 4th and 5th graders to take a tour of Mt. Sac and Cal Poly respectively.
- Awarded $3.5 million for increased and improved Career and Technical Education.
- Increased our CTE offerings to include aviation, auto shop, culinary arts, film, theater, and construction, pharmacy tech, medical assisting, GED, ESL
We are partnering with our local unions to prepare our students for careers in numerous fields.
